General

  • What is the max capacity of the barn?

    The Barn can accomodate up to 150 seated guests. With additional overflow tents outside the Barn, we welcome additional guest seating. The Great Lawn is also the perfect outside backdrop for your ceremony.

  • How long will we have access to the venue?

    For a Friday or Saturday rental access is 9am and everyone departs from the grounds by 11pm. For a Sunday rental access is 9am and everyone departs from the grounds by 9pm

  • Will there be on-site staff to assist us on wedding day?

    Absolutely! It is our top priority to create a stress-free environment so that you and your spouse can truly enjoy every moment with family and guests. Our friendly team will be present for your entire day, eager to assist in every way possible.

  • What does the setup entail?

    Our staff will be on-site long before your arrival, making sure your floor plan is set up perfectly according to the custom plan we’ll establish together at your final meeting. We will have all the linens pressed and on the tables and if you choose to use any of our complimentary decor we have that in place for you so when you come you can add your touches of decor.

  • Can we add our own decorations?

    At The White Barn,we understand how important it is for you to create an atmosphere that is your own dream and vision. We invite you to bring your decor.

  • Are sparklers or candles permitted?

    We love a romantic sparkler exit! We suggest you go with the extra long version to ensure everyone’s sparklers are lit and your photographer can capture the perfect photo when you exit. Likewise, we believe that nothing sets the mood like candle light, though we ask that you kindly use battery-operated or rechargeable, flameless candles inside the Barn.

  • Will someone oversee the firepit?

    Of course! Whether you are setting the mood for the evening festivities or dancing under the string lights and stars, an Indiana night simply wouldn’t be the same without some fire light. We gladly oversee the fire  throughout the evening at no additional cost.

  • Will there be another wedding or tour the same day?

    We value your privacy and acknowledge this is one of the key reasons couples love The White Barn Venue. We only host one wedding or event per day to ensure that each couple and their guests receive the full attention they deserve, and we absolutely do not host tours during your rental timeframe.

  • Can we take photos around the farm on our wedding day?

    Of course!  With over 49 acres of rolling hills and beautiful countryside the photo opportunities are endless!

  • What does cleanup entail?

    We offer a few options to choose for your clean up.  We have a Walk Away Cleaning service where we simply ask that you remove any personal belongings you may have brought in, such as florals, gifts and any of your decorations, and we do the rest! 

    There is also the option for clean up to be provided by whoever you designate. We do provide a detailed cleaning sheet and our staff will meet and review this with your point of contact. We will review the details and timeline to ensure it is all completed by the ending event time to ensure everyone is departed in a timely manner.

Planning

  • Does the White Barn help with wedding planning?

    While our team would love to assist you with planning, our focus is making sure your venue runs seamlessly on your wedding day. We provide a Preferred Vendors list to assist you in finding excellent vendors such as a Wedding Coordinator. You however may choose your vendors and are not restricted to this list.

  • Can we have an outdoor ceremony at the White Barn?

    Absolutely! Most of our weddings are held outdoors so you can take in all the picturesque surroundings which make the perfect backdrop. Set your mind at ease about the Indiana unpredictable weather, we already have Plan B in place for a beautiful wedding inside the Barn.

  • Does the barn have HVAC?

    Yes, the Barn does have heating and cooling. We have chosen to not take away the character of our early 1900's barn by making it commercial. The air and heat provide extra added comfort along with industrial fans and ventilation to make you and your guests more comfortable.

  • How do we design our floor plan?

    We make it easy when it comes to your floor plan. We will meet with you at your final meeting to customize a plan to your needs taking all the guess work out!

  • What furniture is included with our rental?

    The White Barn provides tables, chairs and much more!  Please refer to the Wedding Package details.

  • Are we able to host our ceremony rehearsal at the White Barn?

    For Saturday weddings we offer 2 hours the Friday before your wedding if there is not another event scheduled on that Friday. If there is an event on Friday, then 1-hour midweek is offered for a rehearsal.  For a Friday rehearsal we offer 2 hours the Thursday before your event. For Sundays decorating and rehearsal are done same day.

  • Can we have our engagement photo session at the White Barn?

    Yes, you are welcome to use the outside grounds for your engagement photo shoot based on availability.

  • Is The White Barn wedding venue pet friendly?

    We understand and appreciate that animals are extensions of our families, and you may wish to have them as part of your ceremony.  We welcome your pet to the venue. We just ask that couples let us know in advance what animals will be on the property and that animals are kept on a leash and remain outdoors or are crated after the ceremony (with the exception of service animals).

  • Are there overnight accommodations nearby?

    The White Barn sits 6 minutes from beautiful historic Madison Indiana. We have many quaint B&B'S as well as several hotel accommodations, and a State Park Lodge all within 10 minutes. Please refer to the Preferred Vendors list.

  • What do we need to know about parking and transportation?

    The day of your event The White Barn provides a Greeter and Parking Attendants for your guests at no additional costs.

Booking

  • Do we need to schedule a tour or can we just stop by?

    We kindly request that all tours and visits are made by appointment so we can dedicate a full hour to getting to know you, showing you around our beautiful venue and answering  any questions you may have.

  • How do we secure a date?

    A signed Rental Agreement and Reservation Deposit of 1/2 of the total, is required to secure your dream wedding date. We know how important it is to secure the date you want and are happy to offer a 60 day payment plan for your Reservation Deposit. Please inquire about details.  Due to high demand, we are unable to hold dates

  • Do you offer professional discounts?

    We gladly and respectfully honor our couples that are active and veteran service men and women by providing a 10% discount as well as our State Police Officers and County Sheriff's department.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

    We offer several convenient options for making your payments; Venmo, Apple Cash, Cashiers Check, Credit Card and PayPal.

  • Do you have any taxes, fees, or hidden charges?

    The standard IN sales tax of 7% will be applied to the venue total as well as a Jefferson County IN Tourism tax of 5%.

  • Is there a day of liability insurance requirementt?

    Yes there is. You’ll find this requirement to be quite common amongst wedding venues, and here’s why. When you sign a venue agreement, you are assuming liability for yourselves, your guests and for the venue for your rental period. This type of policy can help protect you from financial loss in case you’re found responsible for property damage or injuries that occur during the event. We suggest budgeting $100. We can provide you with our contact if you wish to use them or you may provide one of your own.

Catering & Bar

  • Do you have exclusive vendors we are required to use?

    We do not require you to use specific vendors. However, we do provide a Preferred Vendors list to our couples once they secure their date with us to assist them in finding excellent vendors. You are not restricted to this list. 



    We do require all Caterers to be licensed caterers.

  • Do you allow alcohol and can we bring our own?

    All your bar needs will be provided through The White Barn Venue. We offer Beer and Wine only and can customize your bar according to your bar budget and needs.



    A bartender is provided for the first total 150 guests, an additional bartender will be provided by The White Barn for guests total count over 150.  Indiana State Alcohol Laws prohibit outside alcohol on the property with our licensure.

  • Do we have to choose vendors from your Preferred List?

    No, we welcome you to select your own vendors, however caterers need to be licensed.
